How is Guna Milan Calculated?
The system uses the Janma Nakshatra (birth star) derived from the Moon's longitude in each person's birth chart. Eight different compatibility factors are scored: Varna (1), Vashya (2), Tara (3), Yoni (4), Graha Maitri (5), Gana (6), Bhakoot (7), and Nadi (8) — totaling a maximum of 36 points.
Score Interpretation
- 30-36 Points: Excellent match — highly recommended for marriage
- 24-29 Points: Good match — very compatible
- 18-23 Points: Average match — acceptable with some effort
